Finally, contraceptive devices also fall under the medical devices category.
Medical devices also aid in the investigation, replacement, and modification of the anatomy or of a physiological process, such as artificial knees and hips. No matter how low or high tech, medical technology has a potential positive affect on people’s health and quality of life. MedTech also incorporates medical devices and healthcare technology, including the instruments, software, materials, etc., that are used to diagnose, prevent, monitor, treat, or alleviate disease or injury. Currently, there are more than 500,000 medical technologies available to improve and extend patients’ lives.
